Hi, everyone, my name is Yang Ding ( in Chinese). In case you don't know how to pronounce it, try "Young
Dean". I am a fourth-year PhD candidate at MDL lab
in
Computer Science and Engineering Department at Penn State. My current research interests are in new
technologies in computer architecture and compilers which target at power-saving,
performance, reliability and scalability. My advisor is Dr.
Mahmut Kandemir. I have
also been working with Dr. Mary Jane Irwin and
Dr. Padma Raghavan in PxP project.
I was born and bred in Xinyang City, Henan Province, P.R. China. Chinese people usually
call each other with family name in front of given name. Thus, you can also call me "Ding,
Yang". Before coming to Penn State, I got my bachelor degree from the Computer Science
Department in Peking University (Beijing, China) in 2002.
I also received the Master of Science degree from the Singapore-MIT Alliance in National University of Singapore in 2003. I
worked in National University of Singapore before coming to the states.
