Vijaykrishnan Narayanan has published more than 300 refereed articles in
journals and conferences in the areas of power-aware and reliable systems,
embedded systems, reconfigurable architectures, nano-architectures and computer
architecture. He has supervised 21 Ph.D. graduates (including the 2009 EDAA
Outstanding Dissertation Award Winner) and more than 30 M.S students. He has
served as an investigator on several research grants administered by US Federal
agencies (including National Science Foundation, DARPA, Dept. of Energy, Army,
Office of Naval Research) and Industry. These projects have resulted in the
design of new CAD tools for power and reliability analysis, the creation of new
experimental platforms and system architectures. He applies his research expertise in
designing and offering undergraduate and graduate courses on FPGA design,
functional verification, VLSI Design and Computer Architecture.
Narayanan has been active
volunteer in the design automation, VLSI and computer architecture conferences.
He has served as program committee member, track chair and conference chair for
leading conferences in these areas. He is serving his second term on the
editorial board of IEEE Transactions on CAD and has served a four-year term in
the IEEE Transactions on VLSI editorial board. He is also the founding
co-editor-in-chief of the ACM Journal of Emerging Technologies in Computing
Systems and currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief with his term ending in
2009. During this tenure, the Journal has matured into one of the premier
journals in the topic. He has served and continues to serve in other leadership
roles in IEEE Societies.
