June 12, 2008 - I have been asked to serve as a member of the Program Committee for the 2009 ACM Conference on Wireless Network Security (WiSec).

May 21, 2008 - "Systemic Issues in the Hart InterCivic and Premier Voting System: Reflections Following Project EVEREST", our paper on the important lessons learned during Ohio's recent evaluation of electronic voting equipment, has been accepted at the USENIX/ACCURATE Electronic Voting Technology (EVT) Workshop.

May 8, 2008 - I will be joining the School of Computer Science in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech as an Assistant Professor in the Fall.

May 1, 2008 - Wireless Week is running an article in which I discuss concerns about new services running over text messaging.

April 21, 2008 - I have been awarded a travel grant to the 2008 IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (OAKLAND).

April 8, 2008 - I will be giving a talk entitled "Characterizing the Impact of Rigidity on the Security of Cellular Networks" at the School of Computer Science at Georgia Tech.

April 4, 2008 - I will be chairing the Works In Progress Session at the 2009 ISOC Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS).

March 31, 2008 - I will be presenting my talk "Characterizing the Impact of Rigidity on the Security of Cellular Networks" at AT&T Labs - Research in Florham Park, NJ.

March 12, 2008 - I have been invited to two program committees - the 2nd Computer Security Architecture Workshop (CSAW) and the 4th IEEE International Workshop on Wireless and Sensor Networks Security (WSNS). I have also been invited to return as a program committee member for the 4th IEEE LCN Workshop on Network Security (WNS).

March 6, 2008 - I will be presenting a talk entitled, "Characterizing the Impact of Rigidity on the Security of Cellular Networks" for the Department of Computer Science at the University of Arizona.

February 27, 2008 - I have successfully defended my dissertation and have been awarded my Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering.

February 21, 2008 - The Assistant Secretary of State of Ohio, Chris Nance, Patrick McDaniel and members of the Penn State EVEREST electronic voting evaluation team will be speaking tonight at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The EVEREST report can be accessed here.

February 18, 2008 - I have been asked to serve as a member of the Program Committee for the Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC).

February 11, 2008 - I will be presenting my paper, "Realizing Massive-Scale Conditional Access Systems Through Attribute-Based Cryptosystems" at the ISOC Network & Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS) in San Diego, CA.

December 20, 2007 - My paper, "Mitigating Attacks on Open Functionality in SMS-Capable Cellular Networks", has bee accepted for publication in the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking (TON).

December 14, 2007 - The Ohio Secretary of State has released the EVEREST election system report from the academic team, of which I was a participant. The report can be retrieved here. The team prepared the following statement about the report and its findings, and will make no other public statements at this time.

November 8, 2007 - My paper, "Non-Invasive Methods for Host Certification", has been accepted for publication in ACM Transactions on Information and System Security (TISSEC).

November 5, 2007 - My paper, "Realizing Massive-Scale Conditional Access Systems Through Attribute-Based Cryptosystems" has been accepted for publication at the 2008 ISOC Network & Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS).

September 21, 2007 - My paper, "Exploiting Open Functionality in SMS-Capable Cellular Networks" has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Computer Security (JCS).

March 27, 2007 - I received the Department of Computer Science and Engineering's Graduate Research Assistant Award.

March 7, 2007 - I was interviewed by Slate Magazine in regards to a recent story investigating the illegal interception of text messages.

January 31, 2007 - I have been asked to be a member of the program committee for the IEEE LCN Workshop on Network Security. I also served as a PC member for last year's workshop.

December 13, 2006 - I have been awarded the 2007 Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association Dissertation Award. This award is given to students who are beginning work on their dissertation and is considered to be among the most prestigious available to Penn State graduate students.

November 13, 2006 - My paper, Efficient Hybrid Security Mechanisms for Heterogeneous Sensor Networks, has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC).

October 30, 2006 - I have been invited to be a program committee member for the 2007 ACM Computer and Communications Security (CCS) Industry and Government Track.

October 12, 2006 - I presented my research to the Software Reading Group at the University of Michigan. This presentation was a combination of my papers Exploiting Open Functionality In SMS-Capable Cellular Networks and Mitigating Attacks on Open Functionality in SMS-Capable Cellular Networks.

September 27, 2006 - I presented my paper, Mitigating Attacks on Open Functionality in SMS-Capable Cellular Networks, at the Twelfth Annual ACM International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking (MobiCom) in Los Angeles, California.

September 20, 2006 - I presented my paper, Exploiting Open Functionality In SMS-Capable Cellular Networks, for the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) in Pittsburgh, PA.

June 20, 2006 - My WIP presentation, "Fundamental Limitations of Sensor Network Security" won the award for "Most Entertaining" at ACM/USENIX MobiSys'06.

June 16, 2006 - My paper, "Mitigating Attacks on Open Functionality in SMS-Capable Cellular Networks", has been accepted for publication at the ACM Twelfth Annual International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking (MobiCom'06). This is the follow on to last year's "Exploiting Open Functionality in SMS-Capable Cellular Networks".
