Philately was my first love for a long time. I have a notable collection of stamps from 200 countries!
But with technology taking over communication, my attention has been captured by the fascinating world of hiking and trekking through tough terrains. Before coming to the United States I have trekked the Western Ghats and the Himalayas in India, and Glen Nevis to Ben Nevis in Scotland. But nothing beats the hike to the Mysore's Chamundi Hills, a short, quick and tiring trek! Moving to State College to join Penn State was also boon in disguise. With a number of trekking trails around State College and very distinct weather patterns, it has given me an opportunity to experience nature at its best. Among all the hikes I have undertaken, Bald Eagle and Rothrock State Forest have been most memorable.
I have always been a passionate traveller. While working at Wipro, I had the opportunity to work in the United Kingdom. This opened the door to travel in Europe that I thoroughly enjoyed! In the United States I have travelled to most big cities including New York, Chicago and Washington DC. My latest travelogue is filled with the scenes from Los Angeles and San Diego. But the best visits have been to the Niagara Falls and the Death Valley! I still have the whole continent staring me in the eye! Someday I hope to travel through South America too.
Apart from the world travel and trekking expeditions, I also enjoy playing racquetball and squash and also listen to a variety of music.
