- Project Title: Collaborative caching for data access in mobile P2P networks
Design a cooperative caching scheme for improving P2P data access in wireless ad hoc networks and mesh networks. Our solution is to let nodes cache the data or the path of the data to reduce query delays and improve data accessibility. We evaluate the system performance in terms of communication latency, bandwidth consumption and communication error rate by prototype implementation and simulations.
- Project Title: Data dissemination in Vehicular Ad Hoc networks
Design a data dissemination framework for vehicular ad hoc networks. Our solution combines both pull and push based approaches. The pull-based approach adopts the idea of carry and forward to handle disconnections in a sparse network; the push-based approach propagates and buffers the data into selected locations to improve throughput. We study the key techniques such as reliable multi-hop directional broadcast and localized data buffering. We evaluate our protocols by developing analytical model and simulations.
- Project Title: Data replication in sensor networks
Propose an adaptive data replication scheme for wireless sensor networks to improve the network service reliability and minimize the network traffic.
