PERCOM WORKSHOPS

PerCom 2007 Workshop Program

CoMoRea 2007

Fourth IEEE Workshop on Context Modelling and Reasoning (CoMoRea 2007)

This workshop's aim is to advance the state-of-the-art in context information modelling, reasoning and management, and in methods that balance autonomy of context-aware applications with user control. The goal is to identify concepts, theories and methods applicable to context modelling and reasoning, as well as system-oriented issues related to the design and implementation of context-aware systems. ICMAN 2007

International Workshop on Intermittently Connected Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (ICMAN 2007)

In this workshop we aim to explore novel research issues related to intermittently connected mobile ad hoc networks (ICMAN), which encompasses the scope of delay or disruption tolerant networks (or DTN), and bringing together state-of-the-art contributions in this emerging area. MP2P 2007

Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Mobile Peer-to-Peer Computing (MP2P 2007)

MP2P'07 will investigate the special research challenges of mobile P2P environments, such as highly variable connectivity, disconnection, location-dependency, energy and resource sensitivity, the diversity in wireless networks and carrier-grade performance requirements. It is intended to serve as a continuing forum for scientists and engineers in academia and industry to exchange and discuss their experiences, new ideas, and research results about all aspects of mobile P2P computing. Click here to see the MP2P 2007 Workshop program.

PerEL 2007

Third IEEE International Workshop on Pervasive Learning (PerEL 2007)

The workshop series aims to address the issues of pervasive computing in combination with new types and possibilities of learning, teaching and working. PerEL 2007 covers both the technical as well as the non-technical aspects of pervasive learning forcing innovative learning environments by utilization of wireless communication and wearable computing. Click here to see the PerEL 2007 Workshop program.

PerSec 2007

Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Pervasive Computing and Communication Security (PerSec 2007)

Research in pervasive computing continues to gain momentum. The importance of security and privacy in a pervasive computing environment cannot be underestimated. As in previous years, PerSec 2007 will bring together the world's experts on this topic and provide an international forum to stimulate and disseminate original research ideas and results in this field. Click here to see the PerSec 2007 Workshop program.

PerSeNS 2007

Third IEEE International Workshop on Sensor Networks and Systems for Pervasive Computing (PerSeNS 2007)

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together the main researchers working on different aspects of sensor networking for supporting pervasive computing environments. This is a very challenging task, as it involves several technological issues (sensor architectures, efficient networking protocol design, power management, security and dependability, etc.), as well as the socio-economic aspects related to the introduction of such novel paradigms and their benefits for the community. The objective of the workshop is to provide a forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences among researchers, professionals, and application developers both from the industry and academia. PerTec 2007

Pervasive RFID/NFC Technology and Applications Workshop (PerTec 2007)

The scope of this workshop includes technical aspects as well as the business impact of RFID (e.g. process efficiency, anti-counterfeiting). Discussions during this workshop will also center around the future evolution of RFID beyond identification of goods, such as NFC technology, sensors, location sensing, and the role of standards. Click here to see the PerTec 2007 Workshop program.

PerTrans 2007

The First International Workshop on Pervasive Transportation Systems (PerTrans 2007)

The PerTrans workshop will bring together researchers from academia and industry who are interested in the application of pervasive computing technologies to transportation. The workshop will consider how future vehicles will be at the heart of a globally-distributed service space, which consists of services hosted by and provided to vehicles, collaboratively and in cooperation with their surrounding environment. Click here to see the PerTrans 2007 Workshop program.

PerWare 2007

Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Middleware Support for Pervasive Computing (PerWare 2007)

This workshop addresses the issues related to the design and implementation of middleware services for pervasive computing. The workshop focuses on the challenges associated with pervasive computing and identifies common paradigms and design decisions that affect most middleware designers. Click here to see the PerWare 2007 Workshop program.

PWN 2007

Third IEEE PerCom Workshop on Pervasive Wireless Networking (PWN 2007)

This workshop is to discuss the theory, practice, and evaluation of wireless networks for pervasive computing. Topics of interest include wireless connectivity, mobility support, location awareness, and exploitation of emerging wireless technologies such as transmit power and rate control, spectral agility, adaptive carrier sensing, cooperative communication as well as application of existing technologies to new applications such as wireless mesh and sensor networks.
