NSF NeTS: Competition, Neutrality and Service Quality in Cellular Wireless Access

We study different economic models of cellular wireless access with differential qualities of service/experience. The models include pricing dynamics, fair competition between like and different providers, network-neutral behavior on the part of the ISPs, fair methods of service differentiation, and end-user behavior. In this context, we are also are interested in the role played by emerging edge/fog computing and caching platforms (cloudlets proximal to base stations) operated by the ISPs in support of content distribution and for network function virtualization (NFV).
