I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics in Spring 2003. In general, I prefer Penn State: the weather is a lot more temperate and the campus feels a lot more integrated. I often miss Krannert though. In my free time I run and bike. Centre Country can be a very exciting place to exercise: the hills make most non-trivial runs an adventure, while a number of mountains are within cycling distance of campus. Two good resources are CRBC and the Nittany Valley Running Club. I have a lot of very nice pictures from biking in the cornfields of Illinois/Pennsylvania: a portion can be found here. I was a UPAC Student Representative from Fall 2006 through Spring 2007. If you need funds for your club's activity or trip, you should apply for money (just be sure to get it in before the deadline!). I also read, generally from the canon, though not as often as I'd like. My best friends are Sammy, Ginny, Gabo, Franz, and Marcy. My favorite books tend to be long and generally a bit weird. It's impossible to go to Penn State and be indifferent to athletics; like everyone else, I am a big fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team. I have, on and off, been programming a chess engine. My summer 2008 vacation was to Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon in southern Utah with my (now) fiancee, Bethany. My pictures from this are up on Picasa. ![]()
