Anand Sivasubramaniam received his Ph.D. in computer science from Georgia Tech in 1995. He received his B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1989, and an M.S. degree from Georgia Tech in 1991. He joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Penn State in 1995, where he is currently a professor.
Dr. Sivasubramaniam's research interests are in designing, implementing, evaluating and tuning computer systems that span the spectrum of application domains from high performance clusters and shared memory multiprocessors, to embedded resource-constrained systems. His research methodology combines theoretical and experimental techniques to optimize performance, power consumption, and computation integrity characteristics of real-world systems. His current research focuses on scheduling and resource management for clusters, systems support for autonomic computing, power optimization in embedded/mobile and high-end servers, and high performance computer architectures. He has published extensively in several reputed journals and conference proceedings. His research has been funded by several NSF grants, including the CAREER award, a grant from the EPA, and gifts from industries including, IBM, Microsoft, and Unisys Corp. He is a recipient of an IBM Faculty Award.
