Matthew McLure Named Computer Engineering Student Marshal
Matthew McLure of Shrewsbury, MA, was selected as the computer engineering student marshal for spring commencement ceremonies to be held on May 15, 2009, at the Bryce Jordan Center. He selected Patrick McDaniel, associate professor of computer science and engineering, as his faculty marshal.
A computer engineering major, McLure received the Lockheed Martin Engineering Scholarship, Stratus Technologies Scholarship, the President Sparks Award, and the President's Freshman Award while at Pen state. He was a member of the Penn State Robotics Club and served as president from 2007-08. He also served as a member of the Ultimate Frisbee team.
McLure's career at Penn State also included participation in the College's cooperative-education program with experience at Intel Corporation for three terms.
After graduation, McLure plans to pursue his Ph.D. in computer science at Northwestern University.
