Professor Sean Hallgren Receives Joel and Ruth Spira Award for Teaching Excellence
Sean Hallgren, assistant professor of computer science and engineering, has been named the 2008-2009 recipient of the Joel and Ruth Spira Award for Teaching Excellence.
According to the Award's web site, The Ruth and Joel Spira Excellence in Teaching Award was established in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (formerly, the School of Electrical Engineering) in 1983 by Ruth and Joel Spira, cofounders of the Lutron Electronics Company. The prize is awarded annually to an individual faculty member who had excelled in teaching and inspiring students during the current academic year.
