Travel Grants

 

Application Process

 

HPCA will provide limited travel grants to full-time students. These grants are intended to partially cover the expense to participate in the conference. Grant amounts will be based on the available budget, number of applications, and details of the applications. Students from underrepresented groups in computer science are especially encouraged to apply. In no case will an individual award exceed the amount on submitted receipts.

 

Students Affiliated to Institutes in India :

To support attendees from India, the funds have been provided by various Indian government agencies (DRDO, CSIR etc) and industries located in India. These funds will allow us to pay for travel, registration, accommodation (in IISc) for selected students. Applications are due on Nov. 5th, 2009. Faculty Affiliated to Institutes in India :

Students Affiliated to Institutes in other Countries :

Students from other countries must register for the conference in order to receive a travel a grant. Our budget for travel grants, in this category, is limited, pending additional corporate or NSF support, but we will provide as many travel grants as possible. To apply for a grant, send an email to the Student Affairs Chair, Yuan Xie (yuanxie at cse.psu.edu) and

Moin Qureshi (moinqureshi at us.ibm.com) with the subject line: HPCA-16 Student Travel Grant. Applications are due on Dec 4th, 2009. Applicants will be notified of their award status by Dec. 11, 2009. Please email the following information in the body of the message.

 

- Your name

- Your university affiliation

- Your advisors name and email address

- Whether you are a full-time student

- Whether you are an author of an HPCA-16 paper (please include the title and author list of the paper in your email)

- If you are an author, whether you will be presenting the paper

- Whether you are an author of a paper to appear in a workshop to be held at HPCA (please specify the workshop and the title/author list of the paper) and whether you will be presenting the paper

- Your estimated costs

 

 

If your ability to attend HPCA-16 is dependent on receiving a travel grant, please indicate this in your email and have your advisor send email to Yuan Xie or Mainak Chaudhuri to confirm. We will provide further instructions for awardees through the conference web page once award decisions are made.
