The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers three graduate programs: Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering; Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering; and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering. The admission requirements are identical for each program. This directory, which contains all the information found in the graduate brochure, duplicates some information found elsewhere on the site. Our computer engineering program is ranked 16th in the nation.

Research
Research plays an important role in graduate education in computer science and engineering at Penn State. A summary of some of the current research activities of the CSE graduate faculty follows. These research groups are not formal groups, but are described to aid prospective students. Researchers may work in several areas or may be engaged in research that does not fit into any group.
