About Me
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate (A.B.D.) majoring in Computer Science and Engineering at Penn State. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor of Engineering from the Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur in June 2004, which at 150 years is one of the first technical schools built in India. I was a recipient of the Glenn Singley Memorial Graduate Fellowship in Engineering for the incoming academic year 2004-05. Here is my short two-page CV [PDF].
I work on statistical modeling and machine learning based analysis, interpretation, inferencing, and organization of data for a wide range of applications, e.g., image content analysis, content-based image search, visual aesthetic quality inference, bioinformatics (genomics, proteomics), business analytics (resource allocation modeling), computer systems (cache and workload characteristics modeling), and social networks (forming in academic forums) . I am advised by Prof. James Z. Wang and Prof. Jia Li.
