Here is some help pronouncing my name. I also describe how *not* to pronounce my name based on a number of incorrect pronunciations I have heard over the years.

My first name has two syllables: (i) BHU (similar to how you pronounce the "Pu" in "Put", not like the first syllables of "Duke" or "Moor") and (ii) VAN (like the number "One", not like the first syllable in "Wand", and definitely not like an automotive "Van".)

Okay, now my last name. This is a little more complicated. There are three syllables: (i) UR (should sound like the first syllable of "Uzbekistan", not like the first syllable of "Urgent", and prrronounce the R), (ii) GAON (if I had my way I would spell it "GANV", but what's done is done; it should sound like "Wow" with a nasal "N" sound before the "V" and not like "Gown"), and (iii) KAR (like "Purr" with the R pronounced and not like a "Car".)

Thanks for reading. And remember - practice makes perfect!
